About Us

The Chaleur region is a tight-knit community of established families and newcomers all working together to make this beautiful area home. However, as with many Atlantic cities and regions, we face an on-going struggle as young workers and families leave to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

We believe one of the main contributors to this exodus is a lack of resources and activities for families and young people.  We know the provision of meaningful activities, resources and enrichment for families and youth is a need that must be filled in order to create healthy, vibrant communities.

Calico Kids provides a place for families in Bathurst, and the surrounding area, to come together as a community to socialize, learn and play. We feature a play area for children 8 and under. We also offer a snack bar featuring healthy snacks and beverages for the whole family, including fresh coffee and tea.

For family celebrations, such as birthdays and special occasions, Calico Kids offers a private party room, and customizable birthday packages to ensure your child has a fantastic birthday experience. Party packages include food and drink for the children attending, loot bags and balloons for everyone, a special balloon for the birthday child, and much more!

With our focus and commitment to family and community, we hope to engage parents and their children in an memorable way while offering them an experience new to Bathurst.

We are a local family business, built on a perfect combination of hometown pride and determination. Sonia is excited to give back to the community that raised her, and although new to Bathurst, Mike has a drive to engage and fully realize the opportunities present in the region.
